NEW YORK: TREVOR PAGLEN TALK, 9 MAY

On 9 May, Rhizome will present a talk by geographer and artist Trevor Paglen at the New Museum, and it should be well worth checking out.

Paglen, whose work Six C.I.A. Agents Wanted in Connection with the Abduction of Abu Omar from Milan, Italy is included in The New Normal, may be familiar to some from his recent appearance on the Colbert Report:

The appearance was in support of his new book, I Could Tell You But Then You Would Have to Be Destroyed By Me. The book is a collection of patches and insignia relating to secret projects run by the US military. (I understand the first printing has already sold out, but more copies will be available again soon.)

Presented as part of Rhizome’s New Silent Series, the talk on 9 May offers an opportunity to hear Paglen speak not only about the new book, but more generally about his research and art. Tickets $8; Doors 7.30pm.
